The Drusilla location of Lake Urgent Care I Lake After Hours has been a go-to destination for urgent care and occupational health services for a generation of residents growing up in and around Baton Rouge. Founder and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kevin DiBenedetto says the success Drusilla has had can be attributed “to excellent care delivered by an outstanding medical staff in a prime location – right in the heart of Baton Rouge.” DiBenedetto adds, “With all the enhancements, the building’s modern design represents the future of urgent care necessary to meet the needs of a new, post-pandemic world. I’m excited about the move. I think our patients and staff will love these new facilities.”
Lake Urgent Care I Lake After Hours – Drusilla will continue to provide extended hours, walk-in care, 7-days a week from 8 am to 10 pm, and on holidays. Appointments are never necessary, although there is online check-in for patients who prefer the convenience of getting in line online. Virtual visits are also available, and most insurance plans are accepted. Our physicians and other highly trained clinical staff treat patients three months and older for a variety of minor medical conditions like:
• Fever
• Cold and flu
• Minor cuts that may need stitches
• Broken bones or simple fractures
• Minor eye, ear, and skin irritation
• Sore throat
• Sprains and strains
• Vomiting and diarrhea
Rapid testing is also available for COVID-19, flu, and strep.
The care delivered at Lake Urgent Care I Lake After Hours – Drusilla and its network of clinics across the Baton Rouge region is accredited by the national Urgent Care Association signifying the highest quality of care available in an urgent care setting. Lake Urgent Care I Lake After Hours is affiliated with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, giving patients in need of higher-level, follow-up care fast access to the family of healthcare services offered at Our Lady of the Lake. The Lake is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the South. Because of that affiliation, patients choosing Lake Urgent Care I Lake After Hours can access their Epic medical records, including the “My Chart” mobile app. Unlike treatment at stand-alone urgent care clinics, the Epic EMR platform ensures doctors in their network can coordinate care when appropriate. Total Occupational Medicine will remain a regional hub for high-level, direct-to-employer care. In addition to treatment for workplace injuries, services include DOT/Non-DOT physicals, return-to-work exams, and substance testing. Vice President of Occupational Health Dennis Taylor says, “This move into larger, more spacious facilities is a wonderful upgrade to what TOM has to offer our clients and their employees throughout South Louisiana. I’m also happy for the staff at TOM. They work hard and deserve to be in this new space.”
Patients will notice one other change at the new Drusilla location. The signs will say Lake Urgent Care. The change is part of an ongoing rebranding initiative to update Lake After Hours clinics’ branding to better reflect current hours of operation.
